PHOSPHOR — Full Walkthrough
13 min · VST/AU plugin · Not required for the other sessions
The same sound design thinking, applied to a sampler instead of a synth.
PHOSPHOR is my sampler plugin built from over 500 samples of real vintage synths. The useful part for you sits in the middle: how moving a sample start point changes the timbre without touching a filter, how looping and crossfading turn a short pluck into an endless pad, and how the dual envelopes reverse that — pad into pluck. Same principles as the hardware sessions, different starting material. Plus the effects section, the freeze modes, and why almost everything is MIDI mappable.

Tip: Map delay freeze to a sustain pedal. Both hands stay on the keys and one tap gives you an endless tail to play over — the closest thing to a second player.
