Bass & Subs · Session 05
FAT Bass
10 min · Mono · No patch cable needed
Three complete bass patches, built one after another from scratch.
A wide layered bass with a slow filter sweep, a plucky disco bass built on a fifth interval, and a simple reese with glide. Along the way: why two saw waves often stack up too bright and a square works better, how to hunt down an unwanted wobble in the oscillators rather than blaming the filter, and how decay and sustain together decide how plucky a bass actually feels.

Tip: Hearing a slow “wow” in a layered bass? Check the oscillator ranges before touching the filter — beating between layers is the usual culprit, and dropping one an octave fixes it.
